Kidd’s Kids Provides Unique Experiences to Deserving Kids and Families

Maurice Bartholomay works as an account manager for Case Experts, a company that provides a wide variety of individualized services to assist insurance carriers, claims administrators, and adjusters in managing their claims. Outside of his professional life, Maurice Bartholomay contributes to several charities, including Kidd’s Kids.

Kidd’s Kids is an Irving, Texas-based nonprofit organization founded in 1991 by Kidd Kraddick, host of the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show. The program’s goal is to positively impact the lives of children living with debilitating or chronic conditions. Kidd’s Kids initially offered children a bus ride to nearby SeaWorld San Antonio but has since expanded to offer approximately 50 deserving children each year a five-day, all-expense-paid vacation to Orlando’s Walt Disney World.

Nominations for the vacation are accepted for 10 weeks beginning during the first week of May. To be eligible, the child must be 5 to 12 years old, have a chronic or terminal condition, be physically challenged or have a catastrophic impairment caused by a congenital defect or an injury, live within the area served by the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show, and demonstrate a financial need. Eligible children may attend the trip with their parents and siblings.

Since its founding, Kidd’s Kids has provided this experience to over 1,000 children and their families.

Deuce McAllister - An Underrated Saints Great

An experienced business professional, Maurice Bartholomay has worked for more than 10 years in Louisiana, serving as an area sales manager with Gentry, an office manager with Midsouth Senior Solutions, and an account manager for Case Experts. In his leisure time, Maurice Bartholomay enjoys watching pro football and is an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints.

Names like Drew Brees, Joe Horn, and Willie Roaf immediately come to mind when talking about the greatest players in New Orleans Saints history. There are other players, however, whose contributions sometimes go overlooked by the football community at large. Former Saints running back Deuce McAllister is one of those players.

McAllister played nine seasons for the Saints and is still the team’s all-time leading rusher. He also holds the record for most touchdowns scored in franchise history. He is mostly remembered, however, as an injury-plagued player who could have done more if he had stayed healthy. His place in the record books aside, perhaps the most telling factor about McAllister’s importance to the organization is the fact that head coach Sean Payton kept him on the roster for the team’s 2009 Super Bowl run even though he was injured - ensuring the longtime Saint would receive a championship ring before his retirement at season’s end.
